Gera Akate is a visionary DJ, music producer, educator, and promoter who has been shaping Puerto Rico’s electronic music scene for over 15 years. As the CEO of Akochema and founder of DJ Academy Puerto Rico, she has dedicated her career to nurturing the next generation of DJs and producers while strengthening the local electronic music community.

Her journey into music began with a deep passion for sound exploration and a relentless drive to elevate Puerto Rico’s underground scene. Gera has become one of the island’s top DJs, known for her ability to blend UK Garage, Tech House, and House Music with a unique signature style. Her performances are a captivating experience, earning her the opportunity to share stages with global artists such as Fisher, John Summit, and Nastia.

Gera Akate has taken her music to international stages, performing in numerous countries including Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Panama, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic, as well as iconic venues and festivals such as Space Miami, New York, EDC, and Movement. Her presence on the global circuit has solidified her reputation as a dynamic and influential DJ in the electronic music industry.

As a producer, Gera has released music through Life and Death and Little Helpers, two highly respected labels in the electronic music scene. Her productions showcase a deep, hypnotic, and groove-driven sound, earning her recognition among underground music enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.

One of her most ambitious projects includes "Echoes of the Stars", a collaboration with Lusca Film Fest, where producers from Puerto Rico create music inspired by the interstellar message sent from the Arecibo Observatory in 1974. This project reflects her dedication to blending music, culture, and science.
